I must confess that I never was a big fan of Rotting Christ before, but this thunderous album has conquered my ears. As much as the riffs are simple, they are incredibly effective; their rhythms hexing an occult ambience that transcend through the whole album.
Lengthy research has obviously been made to put these songs together. Almost every track is in a different language, making the final result an amalgam of incantations, prayers and poetry borrowed from around the world. You will feel like you are part of a secret black mass as you listen to this wonderful work of music.
As much as Septicflesh “Titan” was a well deserving title of its majestic proportion, “Rituals” wears its occult cloak so successfully that it will almost quench your thirst for sacrifice… almost.
