Portal to Hell!!!
First: Yes, the exclamation points are part of the title. This is one of the last performances of Roddy Piper before his death and he looks like he had a lot of fun doing it, which is good for the last memories of a beloved actor. The short film juggles with horror and comedy very effectively. It is simple but well executed. The special effects are impressive for the budget and they manage to bring another aspect of Hell than the one we’re used to. Let’s just say that we’re not dealing with Satan for once, but something more “ancient”. The characters are the right kind of cliché and I’m sure some of you will relate with the exhaustion of the main character at mankind’s wasted potential.
And if you enjoy the short film, you’ll be glad to know that the director is working on the feature version right now.
